Brian's POV
I plopped down onto the bed, exhausted. Who knew two five year olds could have so much energy? We were actually able to keep them busy in the room, but... jeez, it was tiring! I closed my eyes and was almost asleep when...
"I think its time for bed," announced Howie, standing in the doorway. I cringed and opened my eyes. Wrong words, 'D. It didn't take long to find out I was right, either.
AJ and Nick looked at Howie in shock. "No way!" yelled Nick, backing away as Howie came forward.
"It too early!" whined AJ, also backing up from Howie's approach.
I looked at Kevin. Howie was right, it’s time for them to get to bed, but HOW to get them to bed was the problem. Kevin stepped forward, "Come on you guys, its late. Time to go to sleep."
Nick shook his head, "Nuh-uh, I'm not tired!"
"Me neither!" agreed AJ, then he smiled, "You're gonna have ta catch us first!"
Then, before we could even move, he shoved Nick and they scrambled over the bed and out of the room. We stared at the door in shock, Well, there goes us being able to keep them in the room. Then I shook out of it, "Come on!" I yelled, pushing them toward the door, "We've gotta catch them before they wake everyone in the hotel up!"
We burst out the door. Great! They're already out of sight. Kevin spoke, "You and Howie go that way, I'll go this way."
I nodded and Howie and I crept down the hallway, scanning the area for any sign of the little guys.Thank God tomorrow is Christmas Eve. Then its just one more day...
Kevin's POV
When I get my hands on those little- A noise cut off my thoughts. I turned to face the maintenance closet. My eyes narrowed and I grinned as another thumping sound reached my ears, along with a muffled, "Quiet, AJ!"
I crept forward and placed my hand on the doorknob, then I whipped it open. Out tumbled AJ and Nick, sprawling at my feet. They froze, their gazes slowly rising from my feet to my face. I grinned.
Nick turned and knocked AJ in the shoulder, "Good goin', AJ. You got us caught!"
AJ stared back at Nick, indignant, "Did not!"
"Did too!"
AJ crosses his arms, "Did not!"
Nick glared back, "Did TOO!"
"Did NOT!"
"Too!"
"Not!"
"Too!"
"Not!"
"All right! That's enough!" I yelled, not believing what I was seeing. Nick and AJ jumped at my loud voice, then looked and each other and tried to scramble to their feet.
"Oh, no ya don't!" I grabbed them, an arm around each of their waists. They tried to twist away, but I simply lifted them off the ground.
"Hey!" yelled Nick, wriggling in my grasp, "Put us down, Kevin!"
"Yeah!" cried AJ, "I'm afraid of heights!"
"You are not, AJ. You can say anything you want, I don't care. You are going to bed, NOW."
I walked back to our rooms, AJ and Nick still voicing their protests and trying to shake out of my hold.
